(More customer reviews)For anyone who loves music in general as much as I do, Stravinsky's Rite Of Spring can be, to say the least, a shockingly intense listening experience, full of strangely dissonant polytonal simultaneities, overwhelming rhythmic dephasing, and colorful details and timbristiceffects that take maximum advantage of what a great symphony orchestra hasto offer. This edition of the translated original score allows you a betterunderstanding of this revolutionary musical monsterpiece, with visualcomplement to what your ears couldn't even consider figuring out. Sometimesit's simpler than you would imagine; sometimes it's much, much morecomplex. This work taught me a great deal about music composition &arranging, and the book also allowed me to write a reduction of the"Spring Rounds" for a 7-piece band.

(More customer reviews)I love this music.This new team of Goldrich & Heisler is just wonderful.Continuing in the Kander & Ebb tradition of good vocal writing, interesting music, acting skills required, and often hilarious lyrics, these songs are a joy to sing.I am so glad that they are being published.My only complaint is that I had to have the book rebound within one week - the first time I opened it enough to be able to play the songs on the piano (in other words, broke the spine), pages fell out!!But, take it to your local copy store, have the covers laminated and have the book spiral bound - you'll never have to worry about the spine again and the music will continue to inspire you!

I still like this song but was pleased to find other wonderful songs on this album.

I also bought a copy for my daughter.

She had heard "Writing on the Wall" but was not familiar with other titles.She likes it too.

I recommend this album.

(More customer reviews)What could be better than a book containing 50 of the best songs from Disney's best period? Included in this collection are tracks from the Oscar winning scores by Alan Menken(The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas), Stephen Shwartz(Pocahontas) and Hans Zimmer(The Lion King). All my favorites are in here and the music is easy enough for most occasional players to follow.
The only dissapointing thing is that the book only covers Disney's contemporary films. Music from such classics as The Jungle Book and The Aristocats is sadley left out. A must have for any fan of the music of perhaps the greatest film company in history!
