(More customer reviews)I picked this book up and brought it home from a trip to Disneyland.The arrangements are put together very nicely and range from beginner to advanced beginner.The CD is nice to use when you are by yourself, but my family has a lot of fun figuring the pieces out together.It is the most used duet book we own.

(More customer reviews)For some reason we assumed that since this was Disney songs, it would be a beginner level.My daughter has been playing violin in school and taking private lessons for almost a year and there aren't any songs in this book that she can play at this point.I'm sure she'll get use out of it in the future but for now it sits on the shelf.

each grand staff so the students have options on playing the music.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Hannah Montana piano music for my 6 year old as she loves Hannah Montana.The book is very good and includes the music and words for many of the songs featured on the show.The only concern is that the book stated that the songs were easy.Although the songs are simple, I wouldn't classify them as easy.She will need another year of piano before she will be able to play them.Otherwise, she loved the piano book.

Enchanted (Pvg) Review

(More customer reviews)The music for Enchanted is as fun to play as it is fun to hear. The arrangements are pretty standard and adequate enough for those in various levels. I was hoping for more variation in the arrangement for "That's How You Know" because of how each verse (as heard on the soundtrack) has a different sound and instrumentation to them. But instead we get bars and bars of the same notes, which I guess is easier to memorize. And the "True Love's Kiss" arrangement is shortened by excluding the fanfare beginning and starts with "When you meet the someone", and also excludes the Prince Edward (James Marsden) part of the song as heard on the soundtrack. These gripes are minor and could be solved with a trained ear. Other than that this book is a must-have for Disney and musical fans alike.

(More customer reviews)I've owned this book since it first came out, and it's a must for any true fan of the film. It includes some pictures from the movie as well as the music and lyrics for "Carrying The Banner," "Santa Fe," "My Lovey Dovey Baby," "The World Will Know," "Seize The Day," "King of New York," "High Times, Hard Times," and "Once And For All." It's helped me with more than one performance, and I even used it to compose Newsies ringtones for my cell phone.
On the down side, there ARE a few typos - from small things like spelling Spot's last name "Conlan" to more important transgressions like the complete lack of one chorus of "Carrying The Banner." Still, I've always found it well worth the money.

Included in this collection are tracks from the Oscar winning scores by Alan Menken(The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas), Stephen Shwartz(Pocahontas) and Hans Zimmer(The Lion King). All my favorites are in here and the music is easy enough for most occasional players to follow.
The only dissapointing thing is that the book only covers Disney's contemporary films. Music from such classics as The Jungle Book and The Aristocats is sadley left out. A must have for any fan of the music of perhaps the greatest film company in history!

(More customer reviews)I bought this book for a kiddo who has been playing for one year.It was supposed to be "Easy Violin."The rhythms are tricky, it uses accidentals (D sharp, C sharp on the G string, and some others).It is definitely NOT easy.It would be great for an 8th-9th grader, or a kid who takes lessons who has a teacher to help.But it would be more accurately described as "Intermediate Violin."

It includes Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid, and the songs are cute, just not easy.

The music has just the right blend of simplicity/complexity to make it easy enough to play while still being challenging for my teenage daughter, and yet sounding GREAT and very satisfying to belt out.
We are very pleased, and would recommend this to anyone who likes the Pirates music.

(More customer reviews)As advertised this volume contains songs from the more recent Disney movies though "Lilo and Stitch" which was released in 2002 is the newest.I really liked the arrangements from "Aladdin" "Lion King" "Beauty and the Beast" "Hunchback" and "Toy Story".The rest of the songsdidn't seem to be as melodic perhaps because I'm not very familiar with the songs and movies where they originated.Full lyrics are included as well as musical introductions and transitions. Some selections are as long as sixteen pages though most range from six - ten pages. The pieces are pretty easy to play though some songs venture out of the keys of C and F where most beginners are most comfortable.All in all a good collection.
