The range and usefulness of this book is quite astonishing. Not only doesthe text provide important sounds, stress and pitch and mouth/tonguepositions for more than 80 accents of English as spoken all over the globe, but the author illustrates them with great versatility on the accompanyingCD. I learned the difference between several Irish accents, heard a CockneyYiddish and the same phrase spoken in several regions of the AmericanSouth. It is an invaluable book for the actor or anyone who finds accentsintriguing. A vibrant plus is the erudite and highly readable introductoryessays to each language group which give a history of the country and itslanguage, and include many examples of recordings and films in which youcan hear fine examples of English spoken with that accent. I now understandwhy my Swedish daughter-in-law and Southern husband speak as they do,and amlooking forward to perfecting my Dublin accent.A gift for anyone intheater or film, or anyone who is fascinated by the many ways our languagecan be spoken.

I became a fan of Wladyslaw Szpilman after viewing (and viewing and viewing) the movie of his ordeal, "The Pianist".

I feel very honoured to be able to own his work, and play his work.If you love music with a classical and 1940's vibe I would highly suggest the purchase of this music.

Ok, so I know that references 'On the Waterfront,' but I think this book could really be huge.Any time someone publishes a top 100 list, critics are sure to disagree. But whether you agree with him or not, Randy Williams did an excellent job of highlighting some of the best sports movies ever.Everything from 'College' to 'White Men Can't Jump' to 'Million Dollar Baby'...movies like 'Breaking Away' and 'Brian's Song' that my parents had me watch when I was little (I still love the music from Brian's Song) bring back the memories.Tons of pictures, a throrough yet brief synopsis for each flick, and some cool stuff at the back (actor's comments on their favorite sports movies, trivia, and an Academy award list) make this a great 'anytime' book.Wondering what to get the sports fanatic in your house for Christmas?Problem solved!!!

Titanic (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Songbook) Review

Titanic [Paperback]
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The pieces in this book are each some of the best movie music available for the piano. Each piece is masterfully arranged as a piano solo. The book itself contains seven piano pieces from the "Titanic"soundtrack plus the "My Heart Will Go On" song.
The contentsare as follows: Never An Absolution * Southampton * Rose * "Take Herto Sea, Mr. Murdoch" * "Hard to Starboard" * Unable to Stay,Unwilling to Leave * Hymn to the Sea * My Heart Will Go On (Love Theme from"Titanic").
My personal favorite is "Rose."It is anarrangement for the piano based on the theme song.It is one of the mostbeautiful piano pieces I have played on the piano, and it is perfect forthe beginning to intermediate player."Never an Absolution" and"Hymn to the Sea" are also very nice on the piano.I liked allthe other pieces from the soundtrack. Some of them are definitely forintermediate level players, such as "Take Her to Sea, Mr.Murdoch" and "Hard to Starboard."The "My Heart WillGo On" song is the one selection that is for piano/vocal/guitar.Itdoes not sound as well on the piano compared to the other pieces, especially "Rose."But, I'm sure its inclusion will be a plusespecially for those who like the song.I personally liked the other songswhich were specifically geared for the piano. They simply could not havebeen arranged better.I wish other movie soundtracks would release pianobooks of this caliber.I give this book my highest recommendation.

A great book of sheet music, and very promptly delivered; it only took around 1 week to arrive!
The music has just the right blend of simplicity/complexity to make it easy enough to play while still being challenging for my teenage daughter, and yet sounding GREAT and very satisfying to belt out.
We are very pleased, and would recommend this to anyone who likes the Pirates music.
