(More customer reviews)disclamer. i'm tom's friend and colleague. but if you want to read about a real life in rock and roll and look at the pictures that go with it, "roadwork" is the book. the stones, the who, the eagles, the james gang, so many more...tom knows them, travelled with them, photographed them. and there's no hyperbole here, folks...just the straight story from a guy who lived the life, starting in the sixties in london and continuing on 'til today. and yeah, the story is captivating, but what will get you and what will stick with you long after you close the book,...are the pictures. candid, black and white photographs. in hotel rooms, backstage, airports, cars, dressing rooms, recording studios. minus the flash bulbs and the hair stylists. i was reminded of something i've always loved about tom's rock and roll photographs...the fact that you get a holistic view of what was going on. his camera pays the same respect to the roadies and the groupies as it does to the musicians. this is the real deal, folks. take it from me, buy this book. i did.

(More customer reviews)I purchased Vol I (not on amazon right now) of this two volume series.This series is done very well.When a 12 string, 6 string and mandolin are all playing simultaneously, this series will give you all the notes (mandolin transcribed for guitar) along with the vocals.The accuracy will leave you wondering if Page really intended each of the tabulated notes, or is the guitar scribe showing off his tabulation talent.Very well done for the songs included in the series, but where are the other acoustic classics like Traveling Riverside Blues, Bron Y Aur, Hey Hey What Can I Do...?Surely the discriminating artists who prepared this series are not just going to quit their talent before tabulating all of Zeppelin's acoustic songs.And the electric tunes should be included in a sister series.

I was tremendously disappointed, I already have excellent recordings of big band tunes! This is labeled a "Play-Along" which would indicate music minus drums. Perhaps even like the Rock books in this series with one example track with drums and one performance track without drums. How hard would that have been!!! Really feel shisted by Hal Leonard on this one. ITS NOT A REAL PLAY-ALONG! Save your money and buy a great recording of one of the great old big bands!

(More customer reviews)This book is for real, unlike the "Complete?" book which is tabbed incorrectly.I've been playing now for 17 years and this book will give you all the intricacies of the songs chosen.With one technical exception: and this is for true authentic players, the tab to "bron-y'aur stomp" is presented as a capoed song in open F.On the Led Zep DVD however, Page plays this uncapoed in open G.

All others seem to be right on.Well worth the money.

I highly recommend this book.And it has the complete solos too.
