She was determined to wait until she could get a good, sturdy one that wasn't going to fall over with every little breeze and bump. This stand certainly has made her happy. She takes it even outside to use when she plays outside! The red color is very cheerful and goes with every thing by going with nothing. ;-) We are very happy with it. It's actually really nice! Far sturdier than I would have imagined. Folds up into a nicely compact package.

Very hard to believe that it was only $15.

ProLine ProLine GMS80A Conductor Sheet Music Stand Review

(More customer reviews)All musicians know that dilemma of having to choose between a "permanent" stand and a flimsy fold-up stand when taking the show on the road. Manhassets are the dominant brand for heavy, on-stage stands, but they are not easy to carry from place to place. Recently, plastic fold-ups have come on the market as well as a number of metal take-apart, fold-up stands. I chose the ProLine GMS80A as my traveling stand about two years ago.

ProLine is not light. That's a drawback for carrying. But the weight makes it a serious stand for holding the music and to ensure stability in most conditions. Its folding legs and collapsing stand sections mean easy storage in the car's trunk. The platform is solid and large, able to handle three unfolded pages with little trouble. The lip is nicely deep, so music is never in danger of falling off. The finish is hard and durable, despite the usual banging my stand takes in its travels. Finally, ProLine is priced below the more expensive Nilton, yet for me offered all that I wanted. An excellent stand for all purposes.

(More customer reviews)I travel with my harp often and needed a folding, portable music stand. I was a little hesitant to purchase Audio 2000's version, as there were no reviews. But what the heck, I ordered it.

It arrived promptly. I have to say that I am really impressed! It is very sturdy and well made. It unbelieveably folds and unfolds easily and is all one piece. No loose, separate parts that can get lost.

The carrying bag is more than adequate. I anticipate that this music stand will last me for years.

Highly recommended, and worth the extra money over flimsier stands.

(More customer reviews)As both a violinist and a viola performance major I've been through several aluminum wire stands and been generally dissatisfied. this stand is lightweight, tall enough for a 6' tall violist to use comfortably and perfect at half height for orchestra rehearsals and gigs. I'd recommend it over a Manhasset any day based solely on weight and price.

Only minor con is that the rubber feet get torn up easily when opening/collapsing the stand due to friction. I compensate for this by opening the legs first and then extending the stand, and by collapsing the stand before collapsing the feet.

Buy one, you won't regret it :)
