(More customer reviews)For guitarists who like the 'recorded versions' arrangements, this one is not for you.I was quite disappointed.I knew it was not the not for not tablature but I thought the arrangements would at least be in the recorded keys instead of transposed for easy piano keys.I expected better.

(More customer reviews)I got this for Christmas several years ago. I only had an acoustic guitar- no electric, but it didn't affect my learning of the music. The songs are well wrote and playing them even by yourself is fun.
The best songs in the book to learn are "Zero" and "Stumbeliene."
Zero shows you how to get the awesome musical sounds that James Iha plays on the song. Really really awesome.

Henry Mancini - Pink Guitar Book & CD (Acoustic Masterclass) Review

(More customer reviews)This book+cd masterclass is just that, a master class. The quality of the arrangements make learning the songs very worth while, although most are challenging to master as they are technically intermediate to advanced.

The music from the Pink Guitar CD (Henry Mancini : Pink Guitar) is amazing and should be purchased on its own merit. If the music from the Pink Guitar CD inspires you to learn those arrangements, then this book is for you. It would be almost impossible to learn any of the pieces in this book without owning the retail Pink Guitar CD for guidance as the accompanying CD to this book focuses on the artists' comments and teachings on playing their respective arrangements.

Although most tab guitar books are focused at introductory lessons, this book is quite a bit more advanced and should be enjoyable for higher level acoustic guitar players. Beginner players may find many of the pieces outside of their range.

(More customer reviews)Why does one reviewer say this book is complete and great and another say it is crap?Because they are reviewing two different books and I am sure my review will appear in two different spaces also.Amazon links reviews for similar titles so be sure to look at the picture of the book you are ordering.In the lower right corner if you see "Note for Note transcipitions" ,that is the book you want.It includes all of and very accurute lead and rhy. figures.The book also includes the songs "Am I Evil?" and "Blitzkrieg" which are no longer included on the Kill'em All cd because of copywrite rules.The only drawback is that in order to get all the songs on 78 pages the transcriptions are a little on the small side,but it is a great book overall.

The Music of John Coltrane (Jazz Giants) Review

(More customer reviews)While this book is an excellent collection of John Coltrane's compositions, I would not recommend buying it.For one thing, all of the music in the book has been transcribed from B flat (the key of tenor sax) to C.So, unless you like to instantaneously transcribe music as you playalong, or unless you just want to peck things out on a piano, this book isprobably not for you.Another disappointment is that the songs don'tinclude any of Coltrane's solos-- they merely give you the basic,introductory tune of the song, with some chord charts and repeat barsthrown in.Needless to say, I'm returning the book.
