(More customer reviews)This is a pretty fun rhythm book. Before I purchased this book, I was searching around for a book to improve on rhythmic skills. This is a good book to start off.

I need to mention that the accompanying CD don't come with the full track of every single rhythm presented in the book, but on every first rhythm pattern on every page.

I would definitely encourage music lovers, be it pianist, drummer, guitarist, etc..to purchase this book as it will definitely will improve your rhythm reading.

This book is for beginners till advance players. So, it's really a book worth keeping in your shelves !!

(More customer reviews)If you want to learn to read rhythm notation this is a very good book to start with, you don't have to know anything about notation to use this book it teaches that from scratch.
The book starts with the Pulse and how tonotate it, goes on to, up and downbeat and then introduces time signaturesand then on to examples of 2, 3, 4, and 5 beats to the bar. The concepts ofsyncopations and changing meters are introduced and the how to divide thepulse in to two, three and four equal parts, or eight notes, triplets andsixteenth notes. He deals with the time signatures of 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4and 6/8, 9/8, and 12/8.
It's a good book to learn both the basics ofrhythm and the basics of rhythm notation.
When you are through with thisbook you can the continue with his other book Rhythmic Training, and checkalso out the book by Gary Hess.

Solfege de Solfèges, Book 1 Review

(More customer reviews)I used to have a friend who won an organ and improvisation prize from the Conservatory of Music in Paris. He was an excellent musician. He never hummed a tune without using Solfege notes as his guide. I always envied him his skill, and I finally decided to try to learn Solfege myself.

Once, from Sheet Music Plus, I ordered what I thought was a guide to learning Solfege, but what turned out to be something else entirely. Sheet Music Plus, at least at that time, provided a very scant product description and no customer reviews. Caveat emptor.

The reason I'm reviewing this purchase is that it really does enable anyone with basic music notation familiarity to learn to sing the Solfege syllables. This is the first of three volumes. Now all I need to do is to find the time to practice my Solfege singing!
