(More customer reviews)This book is a nice inexpensive edition of some really wonderful sonatas, easily readable and with typical Dover binding that takes the abuse I give my piano books fairly well. The only warning that I would give for this book is that the editor presumed to give some dynamic and tempo markings specifically for piano that aren't in accordance with the best research on baroque performance. I would definatly recommend it for amatuer musicians because of it's usability, but college music majors would be advised to find a different edition.

Album for the Young: Piano Solo (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics) Review

(More customer reviews)While Bela Bartok wrote much more complex music for the piano, this album of piano solos is quite approachable for mid-level pianists and, in part, for pianists beyond the beginner stage. It is wonderful music, a great way to learn Bartok's music under one's own fingers.

Unlike Bartok's 6-volume Mikrokosmos, graded studies from very beginner to experienced, this volume is not graduated according to difficulty level but rather is a charming collection of character pieces.

Highly recommended!

(More customer reviews)More solid arrangements from Phillip Keverin. They are full sounding without being finger busters. The print quality is good also - big enough for my weak eyes and nice, sharp print so one can easily distinguish the notes and recognize the chord clusters.

(More customer reviews)I have all of the Sunday Morning Blend books, and highly recommend them all.The arrangements are beautiful, and not too difficult for an intermediate level pianist.There are quite a few I need extra practice on to play them well, but the blending of the hymns with the contemporary songs is so clever and well done.I enjoy this book for myself at home, and I also use it for selections at our church during the traditional worship service.
