(More customer reviews)The book is exactly as advertised but not quite what I expected.It shows a few guitar chords at the top with traditional tab notation, followed by the lyrics with the name of the chord (but not the tabs) over the lyrics.If you can play those few chords, then you can play the song.These are simplified versions of the songs, exactly as advertised.

If you are expecting traditional staff notation for playing along on the piano, it isn't here, even for songs that S&G originally performed on the keyboard.For songs that are guitar songs, you will only get the simplified version, not the full version that they're playing on the albums.I couldn't play the full version on the guitar, so I appreciate the simplification very much, but make sure you want that.

(More customer reviews)This book/cd combination is excellent!!What you get is a 44 page book with six of Simon's solo songs (50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Kodachrome, Me and Julio, Peace Like a River, Something so Right, and Take Me to the Mardi Gras).The book includes both standard and tabbed notation.The transciptions are excellent and note perfect.The cd includes two performances of each song "karoake" style (backing tracks only).On the first performance all the instruments in the backing are included, and on the second the guitar has been removed so you can play along.My only complaint is that I wish the second performance had featured only the guitar so you could study the nuances more closely.That, however, is only a niggle and doesn't detract from this otherwise excellent study.Very highly recommended.

If you play the Acoustic guitar and you're not an expert that you can play songs and write notes only by listening to them - this book is for you. Bridge Over Troubled Water and Mrs. Robinson are only 2 of the great hits you'll find in this book. (More customer reviews)If you like Paul Simon's music, then you'll love this book.It is a collection of all the music from four landmark Paul Simon Albums. "Paul Simon"; "There Goes Rhymin' Simon"; "Hearts and Bones"; & "Graceland".
Arranged for piano/vocal with guitar frames and has full lyrics. I grew up with Simon and Garfunkel music so I really wanted this book so my son could play them on his guitar.I miss these kind of songs!!
