(More customer reviews)Having never picked p a guitar to actually learn how to play, I was playing the powerchords for the Blue progression in E by the first day. This is geared towards kids with though. I did also purchase Fender Presents: Getting Started on Electric Guitar -- A Guide for Beginners with Keith Wyatt but that was too fast for me having never done this before. The plan is to go through the Marxer Kennedy DVD first then to the Fender DVD and take it from there. Playing this on your PC vs TV is really easy. But again, this DVD is worth the price. Being in my early 40's as well, I'm really happy with the 'kids' version.

(More customer reviews)This is an outstanding video for [the price]. Keith Wyatt is not only an excellent blues guitarist he is an excellent teacher. The video details shuffle rhythm and awesome rhythmic variations that actually make it interesting to play rhythm guitar. The video also goes into a segment on how to construct a 12 bar blues solo and blues phrasing. I have recommend this video as well as step two of this series to all my friends who play not only blues guitar but rock, jazz and country. It is just that solid of a video.On a side note I have purchased videos from many other guitarists and unfortunately many of them seem impressed with themselves or are great guitarists but crummy teachers, this series is both informative and humorous. More than worth twice the money. I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and found a wealth of information contained in this video.

(More customer reviews)This book, along with the CD (and/or Videos) is excellent.Keith Wyatt starts at the very beginning, and takes you up to intermediate material in progressive steps.If you work hard at it, by the time you finish this book, you will be quite accomplished. I played guitar years ago, and practicing 30 min to one hour a day, it will take me 6 to 9 months to master this material.It's not easy, but then neither is playing blues guitar well.You have to work at it, and use the right tools.
This is one of the best tools for an aspiring blues guitarist.
