(More customer reviews)John Marshall, who has written Hand Drums for Beginners, has written this book with Mark Miller.Although I don't play guitar, I have used this book as a great resource for rhythms for the hand drum- there are 82 rhythms- and the accompanying CD plays them all on drums and then for the guitar! Since my ability to read music is not the best, the CD is a great tool to ensure I'm playing correctly. There are West African, North African, Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern, Asian, Brazilian, and more. These can be adopted for djembe, frame drum, or dumbek. My husband, who plays guitar, has enjoyed this book immensely as well. There's a wealth of material here for both the guitarist and the hand drummer.
