(More customer reviews)So I purchased this book having already "Real Blues' which is also a great book. The Real Rock offers the classic guitar riffs and solos in styles of greatest rock guitar heroes. What I really like about Ken Chipkin books is that he pays the same amount of attention to rhythm and solo playing. And the rhythm parts are not just simple strums or comon shuffle patterns. There are very cool riffs transcribed here. And the solos are on fire! Ken Chipkin plays guitar with a attitude and feel so you immediately want to grab your guitar and learn those riffs! I give it four stars and not five just because:
-there is no backing tracks and guitar is not panned to either channel so you can't play along with the CD
-pitch is slightly higher than usual. I have ripped CD to wavs and used Audacity to lower the pitch by 0,05 cent or something.
Still, a great value for money and I recommend it to anyone playing in rock/blues style. Playnig level is intermediate to advance.
