(More customer reviews)I am self-teaching on the steel guitar and this book is one of the best I have used so far.I do play another instrument so I can read music and know music theory.Steel guitar teachers are hard to come by so it's really great when a student can find a book like this one that starts you off learning notes and scales and simple tunes.

Another book I would recommend is by Winnie Winston and sold on Amazon, 'Pedal Steel Guitar'.A third book that I highly recommend is Mel Bay's, 'Deluxe Pedal Steel Guitar Method'.These three books will get you well on your way to playing.

A dvd I would recommend is Mel Bay, 'Anyone Can Play Pedal Steel Guitar'.
