(More customer reviews)I've used this book to supplement the Alfred series for years.Many of my original students now improv in my church Praise and Worship bands, based on concepts they learned as youngsters out of this book. A quick and easy addition to the more difficult to learn note reading, especially for the very young, because 1. the letter names are written inside the nicely sized notes. 2. EVERYBODY knows these songs. 3. The basic chords are highlighted, with more advanced chords noted in smaller print.The Christmas books give brand new students through intermediate a whole book of "Wow - look what I can play all by my self" posibilities, that I can pick and choose from to illustrate chord playing.The huge variety of books means I can send my adult beginners to the computer to "pick your favorite that you want to learn to play".
