This was one of the first books that I had bought when I first started playing guitar. I had figured that learning and being able to I.D. chords/scales/arps would be a lot of work, but Al Politano's book wouldnt be something that I recomend to beginers, if at all; as it is filled with endless and very impractical patterns that would take advanced players awhile to get down to be able to use in a playing situation. However, the book has some things to offer, such as chord/scale construction and some very easy and pratical shapes that I actually use. I cant tell you that you should or shouldnt buy this book because I dont know what you want and it does have some good parts, but the best advice that I can give you is that if you buy the book only study a couple of shapes from each section, not all of them.
