It covers basic techniques (hammer-on & pull-off, bend, slide, finger vibrato, palm mute, artificial harmonics, alternate picking and more), scales (minor & major pentatonic, blues and dorian), key changes and blending modalities.
It's worthy as a complement for the DVD, but if you're looking for a book with much more information on lead guitar, better try Metal Lead Guitar Primeror Metal Lead Guitar/Book and Cd (Vol. 1) although you aren't interesting in metal but in other rock styles.
