Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is exactly what students have been begging for.I get requests for these songs just about every time we get together, and of course I am not allowed to arrange them myself because they are under copyright. You would think that publishers would realize that students are their future consumers and make materials like these more accessible to them. Hal Leonard obviously has the right idea, but a few simple improvements would add considerably more value to these folios. Optional bass parts, introductions, and well thought out endings would put the icing on this cake.I realize that these parts already run to two pages, but most stands will accommodate three pages without too much strain and there is always the option of extracting parts.I prefer the score layout myself, since it allows for easy switching of parts, making for a much more interesting rehearsal. In any case, it's a great start to what I hope will be a profitable venture. It wouldn't hurt to do some targeted advertising as well, since I didn't even know these products existed until I stumbled on to them here at Amazon. Not all of us hang out at trade shows and a simple email or mailer would be extremely helpful.I can't wait to try some of the other related titles, but first I have to get my hands on lots more Rock Classic books.I have forty five plus students who all want to use them in our Winter Concert. It would be far more reasonable to get licensing to use individual songs (especially for educational purposes - your future consumers remember!) but I guess we can't expect publishers to be more evolved than they really are!

Product Description:
The songs in Hal Leonard's Essential Elements Guitar Ensemble series are playable by multiple guitars. Each arrangement features the melody (lead), a harmony part, and a bass line. Play all of the parts together, or record some of the parts and play the remaining part along with your recording. All of the songs are printed on two facing pages, so no page turns are required. This series is perfect for classroom guitar ensembles or other group guitar settings. Includes 15 hits arranged for three or more guitarists: Aqualung * Behind Blue Eyes * Crazy Train * Fly like an Eagle * Free Bird * Hey Jude * Into the Great Wide Open * Low Rider * Maggie May * Oye Como Va * Proud Mary * Smoke on the Water * Start Me Up * We Will Rock You * You Really Got Me.
